ASH WEDNESDAY, 17th February
ASH WEDNESDAY, 17th February: The beginning of Lent! And for adults in good health this is a day of fasting and abstinence. (Fasting means we miss one main meal, and if we wish we can replace this with a small snack. Abstaining means we refrain from eating meat.)
Ash Wednesday Livestream Masses
- 1pm from Farm Street Church with Fr Michael Holman SJ, Chaplain to Imperial College: farmstreet.org.uk/livestream
- 30pm from Newman House Chaplaincy with Fr Stephen Wang: www.youtube.com/c/PauseforFaith
Ash Wednesday In-Person Masses
If you can go safely to Mass on Wednesday, please find the Mass times for your nearest Catholic church, to save unnecessary travel. If this is not possible then Cardinal Vincent Nicholas has encouraged us to give some special time to pray at home, and to make the Sign of the Cross on our foreheads in place of receiving the ashes.
If you have been coming to Mass recently at St Aloysius Church (Phoenix Road, London NW1 1TA) and can walk here easily, the Ash Wednesday parish Masses are at 9.30am, 12.30pm and 6pm.
